Silk Shoe Clips

Written on November 30th, 2009 by Jamie Leeno comments

I saw these silk shoe clips by B Poetic on Etsy today and fell in love. Aren’t these an adorable way to dress up a regular pair of shoes? You could wear a simple pair of heels to work and then slip these on and be ready for a night out with the girls–or wear them to work too! Plus, since you don’t have to know a shoe size to use the clips, they’d make great gifts for friends.

Stylish Slippers

Lounging around the house just got more stylish. I love the sophistication of these slippers from French Press Knits. They would make a fabulous gift for any lucky lady. Plus, if you’re a handy knitter then you can even buy a pattern and make them for all of your friends and family.

My two favorites are the Winter White and the Heathered Oatmeal shown below:

Baking Soda for Softer Skin

Written on November 23rd, 2009 by Jamie Leeno comments

As winter approaches, my skin feels drier and drier. I told you about the great product that I use to keep my face feeling smooth but sometimes it’s nice to mix things up. This is why I periodically exfoliate my face with baking soda. Just pour a small amount in your hands, dampen it with water, and gently rub your face (without using your pointer finger or thumb) pulling upward in circular motions. Simple enough and really economical! Now I have an at home solution for the tougher skin on my body and the ever-so-delicate skin on my face.

Lesson Learned

Written on November 22nd, 2009 by Jamie Lee3 comments

I made a couple of novice mistakes this weekend but at least I learned my lesson. First of all, don’t get so excited about painting that you spray paint in nice jeans. After crawling around on the floor trying to paint the hard to get places, the knees of my jeans were completely red. I’m still working on getting the paint out. If I’m successful, I’ll do a follow-up post about that.

Secondly, ALWAYS dust something before you paint it–even if it doesn’t look dirty. We painted our wine rack red this weekend and now the red dust is staring me in the face. I think I’ll have to sand off the dusty parts and try again, but first I have to change!

Oops
