I made a couple of novice mistakes this weekend but at least I learned my lesson. First of all, don’t get so excited about painting that you spray paint in nice jeans. After crawling around on the floor trying to paint the hard to get places, the knees of my jeans were completely red. I’m still working on getting the paint out. If I’m successful, I’ll do a follow-up post about that.
Secondly, ALWAYS dust something before you paint it–even if it doesn’t look dirty. We painted our wine rack red this weekend and now the red dust is staring me in the face. I think I’ll have to sand off the dusty parts and try again, but first I have to change!
(If you’re judging us then don’t feel bad. I’m judging us too.)

Hi- thanks for commenting on my blog! I’ve totally done this- paint something with nice clothes on out of sheer excitement. Sigh. Let me know if you find a good way to get the paint out!
Thanks for stopping by Amanda! I’ll let you know what I figure out. So far, I’ve made a lot of progress with the stain but I don’t want to lead anyone astray how it looks after it has been washed and dried.
