When I was visiting Clay, he showed me a quick trick for cleaning grimy faucets. You will need is baking soda, vinegar, a plastic bag, and a rubber band.

Pour some baking soda and vinegar in the plastic bag until the mixture starts to bubble like a volcano. Then attach the bag to the sink using your rubber band. Wait awhile–we forgot about it for a few hours but I’m sure an hour would have sufficed.

Remove the bag and enjoy a cleaner faucet! It’s that easy and look at the difference!

Don’t you wish you had a friend like me to post photos of dirty places in your house?
Thanks Clay!

Awesome trick! I’d love to find all of the homemade cleaning solutions out there and compose a book or manual. The Brick Cottage had a few for cleaning old hardware, someone had a homemade dryer sheets recipe and I think I’ve read a few remedies on Little Green Notebook.
Thanks for another fun post! Your blog is just as nice to read as it is to look at.
There are a few books on this sort of thing. I’ve never bought any of them because the internet has so many great tricks that I’d rather spend the money on something else. Both the Centsational Girl and Young House Love have also done a few posts on this sort of thing. Thanks again for reading!!
