I allow myself to knit scarves but draw the line there. I have to stop myself from trying to be too diy so that I don't turn into "that girl." I think Peter and I would have a talk if I took myself too far down that path. But yes, go to a clothing swap! If nothing else just to say that you've been to one--and bring a good friend who would be totally willing to bail with you if it turned out to be a bust. I HAVE THAT SAME FEAR!!
